Atlanta Film Festival to feature Iranian ‘Crab’

Iranian animated short film ‘Crab’ has made its way to the Atlanta Film Festival (ATLFF), an Oscar-qualifying event in the US.

Shiva Sadeq-Asadi's ‘Crab’ will be screened at the 45th edition of ATLFF.

“A shy, withdrawn boy has his heart on being in the school theater group, but the only role offered to him is that of a crab,” a synopsis for the film reads.

Earlier reports said Iranian feature film ‘African Violet’ and the short film ‘Spotted Yellow’ will also take part in the Atlanta Film Festival.

ATLFF is one of the largest and longest-running festivals in the US.

It” showcases the work of both emerging and established artists and is one of less than twenty US film festivals that is Academy Award-qualifying in all three categories: Narrative Short, Documentary Short, and Animated Short”, an online submission platform reads.

The 45th edition of Atlanta Film Festival will take place from April 22 to May 2.
